Limited-time way to get half-off Virgin Voyages sailings, plus more perks for Bilt cardmembers

Virgin Voyages and Bilt  — the first credit card that allows you to earn points on rent — are teaming up to offer half-priced sailings on Virgin Voyages the rest of the year. Trip destinations include the Caribbean, Europe and South Pacific, and take place on Virgin’s adult-only ships.

To take advantage of this deal, simply enter the code ‘BILT50OFF’ when booking on Virgin’s website. With Virgin, your food is included and if you sail in November, you can even get $300 in drinks included per cabin, making this a virtually all-inclusive vacation at sea.

You don’t need the Bilt credit card to use this discount, though the rules state you do need to be a Bilt member. Bilt members who link their accounts with their Virgin Red accounts will also earn 500 bonus points, on top of the 100 free points for each travel partner you link to your Bilt account.

As an example, you could book an Insider cabin for a five-night Dominican Daze cruise for two, Sept. 30-Oct.5 for $1,841. That total reflects a current discounted rate by booking through Virgin, which is discounted from its original price of $2,323, as indicated below.

However, if you enter ”BILT50OFF’ under ‘Access Key,’ this price changes to $1,360, which is half the originally advertised fare. Keep in mind, as shown here, this is not half off any discounted fares. That said, it does often save several hundred dollars off the discounted fares in our tests.

This particular example is the price for an Insider Room, the cheapest cabin available which is approximately 177 square feet. This sailing starts in Miami, and it stops in Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic as well as at the line’s Beach Club at Bimini in the Bahamas, before heading back to Miami on day six.

Bottom line

Virgin Voyages does things a bit differently than some traditional cruise lines, but for some, that’s a good thing.

While the vast majority of the food items onboard are already included in your cruise fare, as mentioned, if you sail in November, you’ll get to tack on $300 in free drinks, too. And yes, that does seem to stack with the Bilt offer, making this potentially one of the best deals around if you’re looking for some fun in the sun.
