Once you register for one of these earning options, you can’t switch your choice. So, take a look at your expected IHG stays between Oct. 13, 2022, and Dec. 31, 2022, and choose wisely.
There’s no cap on the number of bonus points you can earn through this promotion, but you should allow up to six weeks for the bonus points to post to your account.
You must book a qualifying rate to earn bonus points through this promotion. Most rates you’ll see when booking directly with IHG will count. You must stay for at least one night on each stay, and your total spending on each stay must be $30 or higher per night.

As noted above, there are two earning options during this promotion. For simplicity, we’ll refer to the option to earn 2,000 bonus points every two nights as option A and the option to earn 10,000 bonus points every four nights as option B.
To help you understand how many bonus IHG points you could earn with either option, check out the following list based on the number of nights you stay between Oct. 13, 2022, and Dec. 31, 2022:
One night: 0 bonus points with option A and 0 bonus points with option B.
Two nights: 2,000 bonus points with option A and 0 bonus points with option B.
Three nights: 2,000 bonus points with option A and 0 bonus points with option B.
Four nights: 4,000 bonus points with option A and 10,000 bonus points with option B.
Five nights: 4,000 bonus points with option A and 10,000 bonus points with option B.
Six nights: 6,000 bonus points with option A and 10,000 bonus points with option B.
Seven nights: 6,000 bonus points with option A and 10,000 bonus points with option B.
Eight nights: 8,000 bonus points with option A and 20,000 bonus points with option B.
Nine nights: 8,000 bonus points with option A and 20,000 bonus points with option B.
10 nights: 10,000 bonus points with option A and 20,000 bonus points with option B.
11 nights: 10,000 bonus points with option A and 20,000 bonus points with option B.
12 nights: 12,000 bonus points with option A and 30,000 bonus points with option B.
As you can see, if you plan to stay three or fewer qualifying nights between Oct. 13, 2022, and Dec. 31, 2022, you should select the option to earn 2,000 bonus points every two nights. But, if you plan to stay four or more qualifying nights during this promotion, you should select the option to earn 10,000 bonus points every four nights.
Since you can’t change the option you choose once you register, you may want to wait until shortly before your first stay on or after Oct. 13, 2022, to register unless you are certain you’ll stay with IHG for at least four qualifying nights before the end of 2022.

Bottom line
If you select the option to earn 10,000 bonus points every four nights, that comes out to about 2,500 points per night. Based on TPG’s valuations, 2,500 IHG points are worth about $12.
Combining this promotion with bonuses from elite status and an IHG credit card is a great way to earn IHG points on paid stays. Typically, IHG members earn 10 base points per dollar spent at most IHG brands. And IHG elite members get bonus points based on their status tier. Specifically, Silver Elite members get a 20% bonus, Gold Elite members get a 40% bonus, Platinum Elite members get a 60% bonus and Diamond Elite members get a 100% bonus.
